Marike van Beuge is a Senior Consultant and Cluster Leader at Catalyze. She aims to use her research background, writing and analytical skills to help develop innovative ideas into successful projects in Life Sciences. In this role, she likes to assist clients in defining the optimal project, finding potential project partners, and writing a well-matched project application.
Marike studied Pharmacy at the University of Groningen and subsequently performed her PhD research at the Dept. of Pharmacokinetics, Toxicology and Targeting there. This research focused on methods for cell-specific delivery of kinase inhibitors for the treatment of liver fibrosis. During her PhD, she (co)authored several scientific publications and presented her work at large international conferences. Marike continued her academic career as a post-doctoral researcher at the Dept. of Pathology & Medical Biology at the University Medical Centre Groningen. Here she was involved in different projects aimed at elucidating signalling pathways and extracellular matrix regulation in fibrosis. She also worked on the development of novel local drug delivery devices. During her academic career, Marike collaborated with various (inter)national research groups and companies.
