Sedef Iskit, PhD, is a molecular biologist specialized in cancer research. As a Consultant at Catalyze, she is helping groundbreaking biomedical innovations get financial support.
Sedef studied Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at Sabanci University, Istanbul. After finishing the Master Oncology program at VU Amsterdam, she continued her academic career as a PhD student at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Here, she worked on gene expression profiles that can predict colorectal cancer outcomes, and the discovery of novel therapies for triple-negative breast cancer.
After finishing her PhD at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Sedef went on to pursue her strong interest in medical communications as a freelance writer. She produced informational and educational materials for doctors and patients, and aided in shaping academic publications. She joined the Catalyze team where she is using her strong research and communication skills to help innovative biomedical projects receive the funding they need to improve lives.
